Student Council
Representatives from the 4th through 8th grades are elected to serve on the Student Council. Members elect a president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer, and a teacher serves as the adult sponsor. The Student Council plans activities for the students as well as service activities in the community. In addition to planning activities, the Student Council is responsible for funding the activities. 

Speech Team
Students in 5th through 8th grades can participate on the school speech team. There are two Diocesan Speech Meets over the course of the school year. The speech coach helps students decide whether humorous monologues, serious monologues, or duet acting is best suited to their style of presentation.

Chess Team
Students in Grades 1-8 have the opportunity to be part of the Chess Team. Students learn the basics of chess in STEM and compete in meets against other schools in the diocese. 

St. Joseph placed 2nd at the 2025-26 Diocesan Chess Meet! The Hawks were paced by perfect scores from Grant Owens, Christian Row, and James Nowatzki. A big thank you to Jim Nowatzki for coaching the team.

Choir
Students in Grades 3-8 are able to participate in choir. Thank you to Mrs. Schlitt for working with our students!
